Clement Trempe, M.D.
Director of Retinal Services
Dr. Trempe graduated from Ottawa Medical School in Ottawa, Canada. After completing his residency in Ophthalmology at Ottawa University, he joined Harvard Medical School as a Clinical Assistant in ophthalmology where he continued to serve.
He served in several capacities at Schepens Eye Research Institute and in 2006 joined as Director of Retina Service at New England Eye Institute.
Dr. Trempe is one the staff at Massachusetts Eye an Ear Infirmary, Tufts New England Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Dr. Trempe has devoted his professional life to treating patients for disease of the eye in which an inflammatory process is a contributing factor and affecting the eye and the central nervous system.
He has been heavily involved in raising funds to support his many research activities in the area of systemic inflammation and the role it plays in ophthalmological and other neurological diseases.
He is the author of countless related publications.
He lives in Nahant, Massachusetts with his wife Zena.
